What is a NIE number and why is it important?
NIE is a Spanish identification number for foreigners who need to handle legal, financial or administrative matters in Spain. It is often used when buying property, paying taxes, opening a bank account, signing contracts, working or managing other practical matters.
What is Modelo EX-15?
Modelo EX-15 is the official form used to apply for a NIE number in Spain or through Spanish embassies and consulates. SolPiso helps you prepare the form based on your details.
Is the authority fee included?
The full-service price of 395 € includes SolPiso’s handling, the power-of-attorney arrangement, notary/apostille under the package and the authority fee for the NIE application. The current NIE fee is included in the full-service price. If the authority’s fees or requirements change after booking, we will inform you before the process starts.
Do I need to attend the embassy myself?

Can I apply for an NIE from Sweden?

What is the difference between NIE and residencia?
An NIE is a personal identification number, not a residence permit or proof of residence. Residencia refers to the right or registration to live in Spain. EU registration is a separate process for EU citizens moving to Spain; an NIE issued through the embassy does not replace it.
How is an NIE used when buying property in Spain?
As a foreign buyer, you normally need an NIE to identify yourself in tax and official matters relating to the purchase. Discuss it early with the person assisting with your purchase. Documents from the planned purchase can support your reason for needing an NIE number in Spain.
Does each co-owner need their own NIE?
